Kaunergrat Nature Park

The Kaunergrat Nature Park stretches from the Inntal valley across the entire Kaunergrat mountain range to the glaciated peaks at the end of the Pitztal valley with the Ötztal Alps rest area.

The Kaunergrat Nature Park offers visitors a varied programme: In addition to extensive hiking and mountain tours, themed trails, nature trails and numerous guided hikes provide unforgettable insights into the world of the nature park.

In addition to extensive expeditions through the Pitztal mountains, the visitor centres bring the Kaunergrat Nature Park to life.

The Tyrolean Ibex Centre in St. Leonhard offers an insight into the history of the relationship between man, nature and culture in the Pitztal with its interactive exhibition at the Schrofen, a circular hike through the ibex enclosure and the Weidtblick house.

The Kaunergrat Nature Park House on the Piller Sattel is the centre of the nature park and the nature park communities with the ‘Magic of Diversity’ exhibition, the Gachenblick restaurant and a viewing platform with a view over the upper Inntal valley.
